The researchers at the University of New Mexico found that the medical cannabis provides immediate symptoms relief of numerous health symptoms. They used new mobile technology which also reduced the risks of the possible side effects.
The two different studies such as “Patient-Reported Symptom Relief Following Medical Cannabis Consumption” and “Effectiveness of Raw, Natural Medical Cannabis Flower for Treating Insomnia under Naturalistic Conditions” analyzed the data collected from Releaf App. The app was developed by co-authors of the study – Franco Brockelman, Branden Hall, and Keenan Keeling. The app has the data of the user and effects of cannabis in the US with 100,000 recorded sessions.
The app was released in 2016 and available publicly which offer the incentive-free educational program from patients. This tool offers the easy monitor and management of their cannabis consumption under naturalistic conditions.
The first study verified 27 different health conditions with symptoms of from some of the disorders to depression. The users reported the reduction of symptoms up to 4 points on scaling from 1 to 10. The second study was focused on the use of raw cannabis flower or buds which generally treats different degrees of insomnia.
In addition, the studies were showing the use of cannabis is associated with frequent and numerous side effects. Cannabis can find a permanent place in the medication options as it can treat users health conditions effectively and safely than conventional pharmaceutical remedies.
Especially in the case of insomnia, prescribed cannabis may act as antidepressants, benzodiazepines, gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) medications, and anti-psychotics. However, these medications might have higher risks of the possible side effects.
